Author abstract: In accordance with the mandate of the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) under Executive Order No. 514, s. 2006, the DOST - Biosafety Committee (DOST-BC) was established to lead in ensuring that the best available science is utilized and applied in adopting biosafety policies, measures, and guidelines, as well as in making biosafety decisions.
